In a world of growing CO2 levels and the looming threat of global warming, trees are still striving to provide us with the oxygen we need to live.
Our mission is to contribute to the efforts against deforestation by planting a tree on behalf of every person who completes a level or 10 speaking sessions with 2Bfluent.
Keeping the environment in equilibrium
Think of Brazil, Australia, California, Indonesia, and the Congo Basin. All of these places are experiencing increased levels of forest fires that are potentially putting all of mankind at risk. Those damages may be irreversible. We have to act now.
As of 2020, an estimated 3 trillion trees are still standing tall around our planet. However, this number is plummeting by the minute – maybe even by the second.
In addition to the many trees destroyed by wildfires, to make way for palm oil, rubber, and soy crops, 15 billion trees are felled every year. Incredibly, that’s double the amount lost in Brazil and Australia's recent forest fires.
More harmful effects of deforestation
This isn’t exactly a modern undertaking, since people started hacking away at forests, they’ve managed to cut down 40% of the earth’s trees. Can you believe that? No wonder our earth’s climate is changing – it’s had almost half of its lungs taken away!
And let’s not forget about those who live among the trees. Forests are home to 90% of the world’s species including the already-under-threat chimps, gorillas, orang-utans, and elephants. That’s not to mention the species that have already become extinct due to deforestation.
It’s not too late to fight back.

We’re also not free of blame for deforestation considering felling trees is where our farmlands come from.

Our governments have already shown us that they can’t do this alone. Some governments aren’t even trying. We need to take matters into our own hands. We can’t stand idly by while our world is being felled around us.
